Remember to insure your snowmobile

Time to get the snowmobile out of the garage? Or are you buying a new one for the season? Remember to take out motor third party liability (MTPL) insurance - this is what applies.

From the first day you own a motor vehicle it must have MTPL insurance. If you have a vehicle that is notified as off road during the summer, you need to take out MTPL insurance that is valid from the date you licence it for use again.

If your vehicle causes an accident, the MTPL insurance provides compensation if the driver, passenger or other people are injured. The insurance also covers third party property claims.

If your vehicle is not insured you must pay a charge to Swedish Motor Insurers (TFF) for each day it is not insured. Avoid the charge and take out MTPL insurance directly!
