If you do not pay in time

If you do not pay our payment demand, we will send a reminder. If you do not pay after the reminder we may send a debt collection demand to you. To avoid this happening, get in touch with us if you are late with a payment, cannot pay all at once or if you consider the payment demand is incorrect.

Here we explain the steps of the collection process and how much the debt can increase due to the additional costs.

1. Debt collection demand

If you do not pay after the reminder you may receive a debt collection demand.

The debt increases by:
SEK 180 collection fee.

Payment default record?
No, a debt collection demand does not result in a payment default record.

2. Order to pay

If you do not pay the debt collection demand, and do not get in touch with us either, we may apply for an order to pay from the Swedish Enforcement Authority. This means that we apply to have your debt established.

The debt increases by:
SEK 680 application fee and reimbursement of expenses.

Payment default record?

  • Private individual: No, you will not get a payment default record due to an order to pay.
  • Companies, services and organisations: Yes, an application for an order to pay results in a payment default record.

3. Decision or judgment

If you neither pay nor object to (contest) the debt in time the debt is established by the Swedish Enforcement Authority in a decision. This means that the Enforcement Authority decides that you are liable to pay.

If you object to the debt the case may be referred to the district court to be heard, which may result in a judgment.

The debt can increase by:

  • If the case is referred to the district court and the court decides that you must pay the debt it may entail further costs.
  • When the debt is established interest is added.

Payment default record?
Yes, a decision by the Swedish Enforcement Authority or a default judgment means that you will have a payment default record.

A judgment or a decision by the district court does not result in a payment default record.

A default judgment can be relevant if a party does not send in a timely reply, or does not come to the hearing. A default judgment means that the party automatically loses the case.

4. Attachment

If you do not pay your debt after a decision by the Swedish Enforcement Authority, or after a judgment in the district court, we can apply to the Enforcement Authority for attachment. This means that the Enforcement Authority helps us to collect the debt.

The debt increases by:
SEK 600 per year application fee.

Payment default record?
Yes, an application for attachment may mean that you will have a payment default record.
