Why is TFF processing personal data about me?
We process your personal data for claims handling, recourse processing, accounting, statistics and legal procedures, as well as troubleshooting and management of our IT systems.
Does TFF have the right to process personal data about me?
We are obliged under the Motor Traffic Damage Act (1975:1410) to settle certain types of road traffic accident claims. In order to fulfil our legal obligation, we may need to process personal data concerning those involved in road traffic accident claims. In some cases, processing is necessary for us to be able to decide on claims settlements.
We have the right to process personal data, since the processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation and for establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Which personal data is processed?
We process data that includes name and personal identity number, contact details and vehicle registration number.
We can obtain your personal data from parties other than yourself. These may be insurance companies, public authorities or other persons involved in the road traffic accident claim.
If you contact us by telephone we note down what is said. Letters and email are scanned and registered in your case file in our IT system.
Is sensitive data processed?
We may process sensitive data, for example concerning your health and your financial circumstances if you or your representative have submitted such data to us or if we, through your power of attorney, have collected data from a third party.
To enable us to assess the right to compensation in personal injury cases, sensitive data may be provided to medical advisors and translation companies. In some cases data may be provided to rehabilitation companies.

The case officers can see your personal data. In some cases our IT staff can see the data when troubleshooting or developing the system.
We may provide data to insurance companies that are involved in a claim or to public authorities, medical advisors and translation companies. We also provide data to postal and printing companies so that you can receive our letters.
As a principal rule, we and those to whom we provide data only process your personal data within the EU/EEA. In some cases data may be provided to a country outside the EU/EES within the framework of the International Green Card system, where we have agreements that ensure protection of your personal data.
How long are personal data retained?
We do not retain personal data in cases of claims for longer than necessary, but the time may vary depending on the type of claim.
We never retain your personal data longer than is permitted.
